BGC CONSTRUCTION WINS AGAIN AT MASTER BUILDERS WA AWARDS
BGC Construction was well represented at the 2018 Master Builders Western Australia: Excellence in Construction Awards, taking out the Best Seniors/Aged Persons Multi-Unit Development and Best Retail Building award categories on the night. This follows the three awards won at the 2017 Excellence in Construction awards, recognising the continued success of BGC Construction in the industry.
BGC Construction’s Busselton Civic Centre was also a finalist for the 2018 Best Regional Project: South West category.
The awards, held on July 21, showcased the best of Western Australia’s construction projects in the residential, commercial, resource and industrial sectors.
Recognising excellence in workmanship and construction, they are considered the most prestigious accolade for the industry in WA.
St Ives Carine won the Best Seniors/Aged Persons Multi-Unit Development award for its resort-style retirement living development. The $40 million project includes 63 contemporary apartments, all with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and most with a study or third bedroom. The apartments include basement car parking, an entry plaza, restaurant, café, clubhouse, bar, library and a separate health pavilion.
Butler Shopping Centre took out the Best Retail Building award. The centre is the newest addition to the ongoing expansion of Woolworths Limited and is host to a 3,800 square metre Woolworths supermarket, detached 200 square metre BWS liquor store, a standalone Dan Murphy’s liquor store, 30 speciality tenancies, an enclosed mall, town square, playground, on ground car parking and preparation of five site pads. Valued at $27 million, the development provides quality retail presence north of the Perth CBD.
Busselton Civic Centre was a finalist for 2018 Best Regional Project: South West. Worth $23.3 million, the modern facility offers a mix of administrative and civic capabilities, containing a spacious foyer, coffee shop, council chambers, and multiple office and meeting spaces.
