HITACHI CONSTRUCTION OPENS NEW FACILITY

BGC Construction has completed construction of a new $45 million corporate services facility in Forrestdale for Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd, with the project delivered in just 10 months.

The facility consists of four steel-framed buildings including a two-storey office and warehouse, branch and amenities buildings, which incorporate innovative technologies and environmentally-friendly design.

Civil works were undertaken to raise the existing levels by approximately 1.4 metres, and more than 65,000sqm of concrete hardstand was required to develop the facility which was delivered on time and in budget. The project consumed 15,000m³ of BGC Concrete.

BGC is proud to maintain an ongoing relationship with Hitachi through BGC Contracting, which has used Hitachi’s heavy equipment for mining projects since 2001.
